Introduction

As an entrepreneur, you want to achieve success in your business, of course. But how do you do that? How can you increase your ability to reach more people? In this article, I’m going to share some tips on how to achieve success and build up your platform so that more people can find value in what you offer them and become part of your community.

Surround yourself with people who are already winning.

There is no better way to learn than from the people who have done it before you and have something valuable to share. The most successful people know this, so they surround themselves with other successful people. They listen to what they have to say, ask them how they are achieving success and how they overcame mistakes along the way.


Take notes on others’ advice so that if anything goes wrong down the road, it won’t be a complete surprise or failure like it was for others in the past. Following up regularly on your notes of interactions with successful people will help you start winning as well!


How to surround yourself with the right people.

Join a group or network where you can meet others who share your interests and goals. The more people you know who are doing what you'd like to do, the better chance you'll have of getting helpful feedback on your ideas and opportunities for collaboration. Participate actively in online communities such as forums, Facebook groups, LinkedIn groups, and Quora answers so that when the time comes to reach out for help—or just connect with someone—you'll have built up an audience from which to draw.


You can also learn from people who have had different paths than yours, such as those who are not successful or unsuccessful in your field. While they may not be able to give you specific advice on how to be successful, they can provide context into why others succeeded or failed at certain things that could help guide what direction you take moving forward.


Don’t forget to ask for help.

Asking for help is not a sign of weakness. If anything, it shows the opposite: that you are willing to let other people into your life and trust them enough to rely on them. It also shows that you are willing to work with others in order to achieve great things.


Asking for help may seem difficult at first, but once you get used to it, it will become easy and second nature. The key is being specific about what kind of help you need so that someone can focus their efforts on helping you achieve your goal instead of doing something else entirely because they think they know what’s best for someone else without ever having met or spoken with them before!


When asking others for advice or assistance, be open-minded and willing (even if only slightly) so that the person providing their services doesn’t feel like they wasted their time trying something unsuccessfully only because they weren’t receptive enough themselves prior to receiving direction from someone outside themselves whom they don't know very well yet.

Be generous with your knowledge and experience.

If you are an expert in anything, share your knowledge with others. Share your experience with others. Share what it is that you know so that they can also benefit from it.


It is okay to be an expert in something, especially if you have spent years of your life learning about it and practicing it. But when it comes to sharing that knowledge, ensure that you are helping others as much as possible rather than just talking about yourself.


Share your knowledge in a way that helps the people who need it most. Others that are just starting out may not be able to commit a lot of their time or money to private sessions and memberships. If you are unwilling to help the people that aren’t at your level yet, why should the people that have achieved even greater success be willing to reach down to help you?


Think outside the box and do what everyone else isn’t doing.

Up to this point, we’ve reiterated the importance of learning from others. You should take notes of their successes and failures. More importantly, you must understand the “why” behind the successes and failures. It is not recommended that you simply copy what others are doing and expect to achieve the same type of success.


You have to figure out how the lessons learned apply to your company in the way that works best for you. You have to be a leader rather than a follower. Don’t let someone else tell you what to do; instead, figure out what works best for your business model, then go out into the world and make it happen!


You can be sure that the people who are already successful and have attained success in their careers will not be doing what everyone else is doing. They are always thinking outside of the box and coming up with new ideas, concepts, or ways of doing things.


Test everything! Don’t make assumptions about your audience or market.

The most important thing to remember is that you are not certain of anything. Don’t make hasty assumptions about your audience or market solely based on what others have experienced. These days, you can test "everything you think you know" with surveys and polls instead of assuming what people want, need, or care about in this ever-changing world.


This is also something to keep in mind when offering advice to others. Encourage them to put your contributions to the test. Sometimes, their tests will confirm what you've advised is correct, and sometimes it may surprise you to find out how wrong you were!

Conclusion

If you want to build a successful business, it is important to have a network of people who can help you along the way. Your own experiences, the experiences of other people in your community and/or communities outside of it, and the experiences of successful people in your field are all excellent sources for learning about how to succeed. Your success in life is not dependent on others and their opinions of your work; however, finding like-minded individuals who share similar goals will make achieving them much easier. The key is to learn from the good and bad things that happened to those around you.
